About City of Refuge

Visiting the City of Refuge

Bishop Jones is waiting to welcome you to The City of Refuge! We look forward to you having a wonderful experience during your visit to The City of Refuge. There are entrances to The City on both the north and south sides of the building. When you walk in the door our greeters will be waiting to welcome you. They will have a church program for you that explains what we believe, gives you an order of worship and details about what is happening in the church that week.

Where do I park?

There is parking across the street from the church. This lot fills up quickly. You are encouraged to arrive early. We recommend you plan to arrive at least thirty minutes before worship is scheduled to begin. If you arrive and the lot is filled there is street parking in all directions. As you park please adhere to posted signage.

What can I expect during worship?

We want to make sure you feel welcomed. During worship we ask that you enjoy yourself. We do ask that visitors, who feel comfortable, to please stand as we officially welcome you. The ushers will give you a visitorís card during this time and the choir will sing our welcome song. You will not be asked to say anything. We do ask that you fill out the welcome card and put it in the offering basket as it passes.

Worship is straight forward at The City. We have a time of praise and worship followed by our announcements and then an offering. After the offering the choir of the day sings and then Bishop Jones is up preaching. Our early worship starts at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday morning and lets out around 9:30 a.m.. The second morning worship starts at 11:00 a.m. and lets out around 12:30 p.m.. We also have an evening worship experience that begins at 6:00 p.m. and letís out around 7:30 p.m.. Bishop Jones is scheduled to preach at all of our worship experiences unless otherwise noted on our calendar (see the webpage for special events).

What can I expect during Bible Class?

We have Bible Class on Wednesday at 12:00 noon and 7:00 p.m.. Bishop Jones is scheduled to teach at both classes unless otherwise noted on our calendar (see the webpage for special events). Bishop Jones provides an intimate setting during Bible Class. Bishop Jones presents in a conversational style, teaches from the floor and on occasion engages in questions and answers. Bishop Jones teaches from the King James Version of the bible. There is a praise and worship time before the teaching moment. There is an offering taken up during Bible Class. Visitors are not asked to identify themselves in Bible Class. Visitors are encouraged to come and enjoy the class.
